The Challenge
Alabama has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in opioid settlement funds for cities, counties and communities across the state. These resources represent a generational opportunity to end the opioid crisis — but only if they are deployed strategically, transparently and with the accountability Alabamians deserve.
A joint survey conducted by The Helios Alliance and the Alabama League of Municipalities revealed a critical need: many municipalities have yet to spend their settlement funds, citing uncertainty about how to invest appropriately and effectively.
